The boiling water test is an accelerated aging test. Wood naturally expands and contracts when exposed to moisture and temperature changes. Over years, this movement puts immense stress on the glue holding the plywood layers together.
Subjecting the board to 100°C water forces extreme, rapid expansion. If the phenolic resin glueline can hold the board together under that intense stress, it proves the resin is highly durable, completely waterproof, and capable of lasting a lifetime in a standard home environment.
